Jackie and Marilyn | Birthday Day II

Ok, so this outfit isn’t a suit…nor what I was born in, but I do take my birthday attire very seriously. I used to treat myself to a “birthday dress” every year – but people have started doing it for me!
Bday6My mom got me this vintage dress at a sale and couldn’t wait until my birthday to give it to me (I now know where I get this inability to keep gifts for others until their intended day). I wore this dress to a block party a couple days before my birthday as I planned on doing NOTHING on my actual birthday but sit in the sun by the lake. The weather didn’t want to cooperate with me on my plans so I actually ended up going on a “Thrift Store Tour” with my (patient!) family in tow and scoring a couple more birthday dresses. When it rains, it pours!
Bday8I chose this dress because I don’t know how many opportunities one gets to wear a 70’s long-sleeved maxi but during a cool day in May (I was still freezing) and because it makes me feel like a Birthday Princess, which is always a good goal to have when getting dressed.
Bday9 Bday10_Our yard is right next to a wonderful bike trail and these pictures were taken through the trees by where the trail starts. All of a sudden a pack of biker goes by and one yells “Look! A fair maiden in the woods!” Maybe I will have to start staging my own Robin Hood-esque plays in my yard.
Bday3I paired this look with a gold headband, gold earrings and my very beat-up sandals. Even maidens need to keep comfortable!
