Jackie and Marilyn | Record Store Day 2015

This weekend marked one of my absolute favorite days of the year: Record Store Day. I love going out to support local records stores, snag some great exclusive music and search for used and new finds.

This year, one of the RSD exclusives was one of my absolute favorite albums by one of my favorite bands: The White Stripes’s “Get Behind Me Satan.” It was released on vinyl for the first time ever this year, with a red and white limited edition vinyl on Record Store Day and a wide release later in the year. My husband (who wanted Brand New’s Deja Entendu) and I were outside of our favorite record store, Mill City Sound, by 5:00 am. We enjoyed great conversation with other vinyl lovers and walked away very happy πŸ™‚ Here are my finds!

IMG_1230We also walked away very tired. We spent the rest of the day at home listening to our records and doing nothing.

IMG_1247IMG_1248Lularoe leggings are perfect for a day like this – they are just so comfy! Buttery soft is how the company describes them and it just doesn’t seem to describe them accurately enough. They’re like wearing puppy cuddles on your legs! Yeah, that soft!

IMG_1353I decided a typewriter t-shirt was fitting: Both record players and typewriters are vintage technologies that have seen modern use.

IMG_1322 IMG_1358In reviewing my Record Store Day outfit last year, I realized I wore a kelly green skirt again! Apparently that’s my Record Store Day color. I retired last year’s skirt after several years of use, replacing it with this skirt, which I also have in nutmeg. If something looks good on your body, feels comfortable and makes you happy, buy all the colors!

I can’t wait to see what other exciting things are in store for next year’s Record Store Day! Here’s one more photo of my husband’s 10″ of Father John Misty’s “I Love You Honeybear,” shaped like a heart, while it was playing πŸ™‚
