Winter is upon us, friends. And despite a couple warm days this weekend, it is officially layering season.
That means two pairs of socks, fleece-lined leggings, sweaters over dresses and hot liquids at all times. It’s a constant battle to stay warm in the frozen tundra but it allows for some creative outfits.
This one came from my desire to wear this purple dress and testing how every pullover I own looked over it. This bird sweater worked! The Peter Pan collar fit perfectly over the sweater’s neckline. This will be a winter favorite for certain.
If you’re living in a below-freezing region, you know how hard it is to wear something cute and keep yourself warm. But there are definitely ways to do it. For example, if it had been 20 degrees colder, I could have worm a thermal or long sleeve shirt under the sweater without anyone noticing. Bam: secret layers.
Also, I really can’t emphasize enough how magical fleece-lined leggings and tights are. They work. And who says you can’t wear three pairs of socks??
Minnesota is supposedly going to see some warmer temps this week after they took a nose dive into “I need three cups of tea before my core temperature returns to normal” territory, but as long as I have a wealth of cozy, secret layers, I’ll be fine either way.
